What You Can Do

If You Found a Nest

If you see a sea turtle coming ashore to nest, a possible nest, or newly hatched baby turtles, please contact us via Instagram or WhatsApp +79809809119

If you notice fresh turtle tracks or an unmarked nest in the morning between May and July, please place sticks around the nest area to help mark and protect it.

Then take a photo and send us a direct message on Instagram.

Please include the following information in your message:
— The location of the nest
— The date and time when you saw it
— If possible, a photo or video of the nest area

If there is no human activity on the beach that could threaten the nest, no further action is required. Please do not place umbrellas or sunbeds near the nest area.

If there are activities on the beach that may threaten the nest (such as beach bars, beach furniture, or light pollution), please inform us. Please make sure to mark the nest. You can use any materials available, but the best option is to place stakes around it and connect them with a rope.

Also, please put up a sign. Take a sheet of A4 paper and write “Caretta Caretta” on it. If possible, include the date when the nest was discovered. Place the paper in a plastic sleeve, staple it securely, and attach it to the rope.

The hatchlings are expected to emerge in approximately 45–60 days.

Do not touch hatchlings or carry them to the sea. They should not be handled and must reach the sea on their own.

If you see hatchlings emerging from the nest, you may help protect them from animals and birds, but do not touch them with your hands until they safely reach the sea.
